HOW TO TIE DYE

Get the basics on how to tie dye like a pro with these tips for tie-dye success on almost any fabric item!

For best results, please read all instructions before beginning project. Refer to photo/video for color and design placement.

What do you need:

White 100% cotton T-shirt

Disposable plastic table cover

Wire rack

Sealable plastic bag

Step 2:

Prepare your dye. Mix dyes with water according to instructions.

Step 1:

Wash T-shirt without fabric softener and leave damp.

Protect your work surface with a plastic table cover.

Lay the damp shirt flat on your covered work surface.

Step 3:

Pinch the fabric in the center of where you would like your spiral to be, then twist the fabric until all of it is in a spiral shape

Secure the spiraled fabric by crisscrossing rubber bands around it.

Step 4:

Apply dyes as desired. Flip the bound fabric over and apply dyes in the same pattern as the other side.

Step 5:

Cover with plastic or place in a sealable plastic bag to keep damp for 6 to 8 hours while the dye sets.

Step 6:

Rinse and wash according to kit instructions.

Reveal your design and enjoy!
